How delivery technicians pre-load orders, save them to a smart device when the signal drops, and upload the preserved orders in bulk once connectivity returns.

When DME Providers are in areas with suspected low connectivity, their delivery technicians can load and save orders onto their smart device allowing for an encrypted version of the order to be preserved for later upload through the Delivery portal.

This article covers what to do before the technician loses signal, what the portal shows when an order cannot be submitted, and how to upload the preserved orders afterwards.

Pre-load orders while you still have full connectivity

When delivery technicians are in an area of full connectivity, orders should be pre-loaded through the Delivery portal with the order access code and the patient’s last name.

Load orders before you head out

Pre-load every order you expect to complete before entering an area of suspected low connectivity. An order that has not been loaded onto the device cannot be worked offline.

What happens when you submit an order offline

When attempting to submit or complete an order in the Delivery portal while in an area of low connectivity, the technician will see a message confirming the order has been saved and asking them to submit again later. An encrypted version of the order will automatically save to the device.

Important: An order saved on the device has not reached Synapse Health yet. It is only submitted once the technician uploads it from the Pending Orders section after connectivity returns.

Upload the preserved orders once connectivity returns

Once the technician is back in an area with connectivity, the Delivery portal will have the option to upload the preserved orders in bulk using the “Pending Orders” button.

In the Pending Orders section, a list of orders yet to be uploaded will be available for completion. Technicians can select “Complete All Orders” to have encrypted files pulled from the device to be submitted to Synapse Health.

Confirming the orders went through

Once orders are completed, the order status in Fulfill will change to “Pending Synapse Review.” No further action is needed from the technician at this time.
