How Synapse Health takes over your existing PAP rental population, what it pays per remaining rental month, and what you have to submit to take part.

Synapse Health provides a transition program for DME providers who choose not to enter positive airway pressure (PAP) equipment into our network. Synapse assumes responsibility for your existing PAP rental population and pays you a one-time amount based on the rental months remaining.

The program is designed to ensure your existing PAP patients continue receiving uninterrupted care while making the transfer of responsibilities as supportive as possible. This article covers the buyout rates, the participation criteria, and how to sign up.

What Synapse pays per remaining rental month

Synapse Health will assume responsibility for your existing PAP rental population at the rates below, contingent on meeting all participation criteria including patient contact and onboarding.

What you have to submit to participate

Participation criteria

To take part in this program, providers are asked to submit:

  • Patient demographics
  • Order details, including interface details
  • Documentation compliant with Medicare LCD billing guidelines
  • Serial numbers, modem IDs, and system association with Synapse Health (AirView, React Connect, CareOrchestrator)
Important: Successful patient contact and onboarding by Synapse, confirming patient use and continued need for DME, are all required for payment.

  • Receive a one-time payment based on remaining rental months
  • Ensure uninterrupted care and support for patients
  • Simplify the administrative process by transferring the responsibility to Synapse Health

How to sign up and what happens next

  1. Sign up for the PAP Buyout Program using the sign-up form.
  2. Begin compiling all qualifying Medicare documentation for your existing PAP population.
  3. A team member will be in touch within 72 hours of completion of sign-up.
  4. Complete the necessary paperwork and submit the documentation via our ShareFile site.
